Ruth Evans joined Toquerville City in 2019. Currently she serves in the appointed position of City Treasurer. She is also the Human Resource Director for the City. She is responsible for advising the City Manager on the budget and receiving and investing city funds. Ruth also oversees utility billing and the collection functions of the City. She is currently a member of and has received training from the Utah Association of Public Treasurers and the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada and is working toward becoming a Certified Public Finance Administrator (CPFA). As Human Resource Director she oversees the functions of the City’s personnel including payroll, benefits administration, and onboarding new employees. Prior to becoming the Treasurer in December of 2021, she started her career as the City Recorder and completed training from the Utah Certified Municipal Clerks Association and the Utah Business License Association. In addition, Ruth brings an extensive background in finance and office management with more than 20 years of experience in customer service.
