Todd Sands has been a dedicated member of the Toquerville City Council since November 2022, when he was appointed, and subsequently elected in January 2024 for a four-year term. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Todd's educational background forms a solid foundation for his role with Toquerville City. Having retired from a career spanning over 35 years in the fire service and more than 40 years as a seasonal ocean lifeguard, Todd brings a wealth of experience and a strong sense of commitment to public service. Notable highlights of his career include serving with airport crash fire companies, contributing as a rescuer during the World Trade Center tragedy on 9/11, and assignments such as Heavy Rescue, Urban Search and Rescue, and Swift Water operations. In addition to his council duties, Todd remains actively involved in community affairs, serving as the board secretary/clerk for the Southwest Mosquito Abatement and Control District and as a valued member of the Washington County Solid Waste Administrative Control Board.
